Tirumala: The temple priests performed Snapana Tirumanjanam (Celestial Bath) to the processional deities of Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshmana and Anjaneya Swamy at Ranaganayakula Mandapam inside Srivari temple on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami on Friday.

The temple administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has cancelled Vasanthotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankara Seva on Sri Ramanavami, while it also cancelled Vasanthotsavam, which is scheduled for April 20.

On this important festival day, the processional deities of Lord Sri Rama, Sita Devi, Lakshmana and Lord Hanuman were taken on a procession in the four mada streets. Later, on their return to the temple, the temple priests performed special rituals. The pundits read out "Sri Rama Jananam" in Sri Rama Navami Asthanam.

JEO KS Sreenivasa Raju, CV&SO GVG Ashok Kumar, Deputy EO Temple Chinnamgari Ramana, Peishkar Rama Rao, Ramamurthy Reddy, AEO and others took part in the celebrations.

Tirupati: Sri Rama Navami festival was celebrated on a grand scale here at Sri Kodanda Ramaswamy temple in Tirupati on Friday. Special programmes were organised on the occasion.

Parimalam procession, Mulavarla Tirumanjanam, Sri Rama Janana Pravachanam, Asthanam, Unjal Seva have been performed since 2.30 am on Friday morning and Lord Sri Rama along with Goddess Sita took a joy ride on Hanumantha Vahan along the four Mada streets.

Local temples Deputy Executive Officer Chandrasekhara Pillai, TTD Hindu Dharma Prachara Paritshad Special Officer Raghunath, Govindaraja Swamy temple Assistant Executive Officer Prasadamurthy Raju, temple Superintendent Suresh Reddy, temple Inspector Sesha Reddy and large number of devotees participated in the programme.
