cmvTirupati: Minister for Mines and Geology Galla Aruna Kumari on Thursday directed the district administration to make Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy's three-day visit to the district a grand success. The CM is scheduled to visit Chandragiri fort town on March 30, where he would be launching the Adhar linked MGNRGES (National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme) along with Union Minister Jayram Ramesh. The Minister held a review meeting with the officials at MPDO office at Chandragiri in Chittooor district on Thursday and discussed about arrangements. Aruna Kumari said that the Chief Minister would participate in a programme at Chandragiri on March 30. Chittoor district is one among 46 districts in the country selected for the implementation of the pilot project. Interestingly, Chittoor is one and only a district where the payment to the NREGS workers would be paid through post offices, while in all other districts the mode of payment would be through banks, she said. She directed the SPDCL officials to maintain uninterrupted power supply during the CM's visit, apart from keeping the generators ready in case of emergencies. She also sought the officials to maintain sufficient water supply at the venue. Earlier, the Minister inspected the local agricultural market yard godown at Chandragiri along with the district authorities.
