Students write exams by sitting on the floor in CM's constituency xTirupati: On the first day of Class X exams, 592 students did not appear for the exam out of 55, 214, on Friday in Chittoor district. Except this by and large, the exams passed off peacefully without any hiccups, said District Education Officer Pratap Reddy. With the awareness created by the district administration, the school managements and parents associations, at many examination centres, the students arrived at the exams centres much before the commencement of exam. Ironically, the students wrote examination on the floor as they are no tables and benches in KV Palle and Garampalli government high schools which fall under the Chief Minister's constituency. A few schools in Varadayapalem and BN Kandriga villages also did not have sufficient number of benches and tables. Hence, the students wrote exam by sitting on the floor. Question papers reached examination centres as per schedule, thanks to the district administration as the officials performed duties well. In all, 268 chief superintendents, 268 departmental staff, 2,988 invigilators and 14 flying squads have been appointed for the conduct of exams. A control room was set up at the office of District Educational Officer in Chittoor.
