Tirumala: Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam has decided to do away with VIP 'break darshan' from Monday till the end of May keeping in view the large influx of pilgrims to the largest pilgrim centre in the country. TTD chairman Kanumuri Bapiraju and Executive Officer L V Subrahmanyam addressing newsmen at Padmavathi guest house here on Sunday said that the Tirumala is expecting sizable number of common pilgrims following announcement of Intermediate results. "To facilitate the common people, VIP break darshan would be cancelled from Monday," they said. "The common devotees should be given top priority," they added. They said that if the influx of the devotees increased there would be further cancellation of VIP break darshan. However, the TTD Board would discuss the issue and take a proper decision, they said. "The TTD Board members were already appraised of the situation before taking this crucial decision," they said. apiraju said that there has been a demand from the devotees to arrange two main doors keeping in view of the increasing number of devotees. "The TTD has to take into consideration the temple traditions and agama sastra before taking any decision over this issue," he said.
