Tirumala: Telugu film producer-actor M Mohan Babu on Tuesday observed that it was not proper to hold the centenary celebrations of the South Indian films now in view of the regional discord among the people in the State. Speaking to press persons here after having the Lord’s ‘darshan’ in the morning along with Kannada actor-politician Ambarish and his actress wife Sumalata, he said Telangana and Seemandhra regions were like ‘two eyes of the film industry’.
‘It is not good (‘manchidikadau’) to hold the centenary celebrations of the South Indian films now is my decision’, Mohan Babu quipped. He favoured holding of the celebrations by the Telugu film industry after other States in the South. He had conveyed this view to the Film Chamber. However, the final decision was left to the Film Chamber. Mohan Babu was blessed and given ‘prasadam’ by vedic pundits at Ranganayakula Mandapam.
