Not at all, says film-maker Karan Johar. Karan Johar took to the micro blogging site twitter to deny the rumor over his new project, ‘Shuddhi’. The news is spreading like a fire in the jungle about Deepika Padukone replacing Kareena Kapoor in ‘Shuddhi’. But Karan rubbished the rumor saying Kareena is very much part of the project.

Grapevine buzzed that with back to back hits, the reigning queen of Bollywood Deepika has reached an unimaginable height and Karan wants a successful actress for his big venture. Another reason cited for Karan dropping Kareena from the film is the actress’s packed schedule. Kareena is not keen to give so much time to the film.
"It's true, she has been approached. However, she still needs to read the script and take a decision," a source close to the project told media.
All the four releases of Deepika, ‘Race 2’, ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela-Ram Leela’ did a stupendous business at the box-office this year while Kareena Kapoor failed to shine in 2013. Her film, ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’ drastically failed at the box-office.
On looking at Deepika’s success graph, Karan had a change of mind. The filmmaker met Deepika and she has not given her nod as she is yet to read the script.
The film is expected to go on floor early next year. Currently, Hrithik is out of the country for treatment and once he returns, Karan will go ahead with the film. ‘Shuddhi’ will be directed by Karan Malhotra.
