There is no extinction to artists, as they live forever through their arts. Akkineni Nageshwar Rao more aptly known as ANR died at 2:12 a.m. on Wednesday. Though physically he left this world, he lives forever in the minds of people through his movies. He acted in as many movies as 256 films. Of these 256 movies, he acted as the protagonist in 240 movies.
The credit of turning a character artist role to be the main character goes to none other than ANR. Through his ever green movie Seetaramaiah gari manuvaralu, he not only gave life to the character artist roles, but also enhanced the importance of character artist roles. He ever lives in the minds of the audiences for generations together, undoubtedly.
Nageshawar Rao has been honored with Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and an honorary doctorate from Andhra University. He is the recipient of prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke award.
