Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan will commence filming the yet-to-be-titled Tamil remake of recent Malayalam blockbuster ‘Drishyam’ from the second half of 2014, says director Jeethu Joseph.

Superstar Mohanlal-starrer ‘Drishyam’, which was helmed by Jeethu, released during Christmas weekend last year. It has emerged as the biggest hit in Malayalam filmdom.

"Kamal sir has expressed interest to act in the Tamil remake of the film. We will start shooting from the second half of 2014. The rest of the cast and crew will be finalised soon," said Jeethu, who will also direct the remake.

"Drishyam", which is about a father's effort to cover up a murder to protect his family, is still running to packed houses in Kerala as well as Tamil Nadu.

The film is set to be remade in Telugu and Hindi.

Superstar Venkatesh will feature in its Telugu remake, which will be helmed by Sripriya, while the talks are on for the Hindi remake with a top star.
