Laddu Babu Telugu Movie Review

The much-awaited Telugu movie Laddu Babu starring Allari Naresh, Poorna and Bhoomika Chawla released in theatres on Friday. Before we tell you reasons to watch or not watch the movie, let's take a look at the production crew.

Synopsis:

An obese Laddu Babu has his eyes set on Poorna. But it's not easy for him to woo her. On the other hand Bhumika is in awe of Naresh. What follows is a series of comical events.

Story

Laddu babu (Allari Naresh) gets obese within no time bitten by a Ensifilities mosquito. While his father Kishtayya (Kota Srinivasa Rao) tries to get him married with any girl, to own his ancestral property and enjoy his life in Goa,

Laddu Babu dreams of marrying a girl of his choice. He gets attracted to Maya Prasad (Poorna) and tries to win her attention but at the sametime a small boy Murthy (Atulit) spoils his overtures as Laddu babu overturns his friendship. Laddu babu finally accepts Atulit's friendship when he was driven out by his father Kishtayya.

Why Atulit is after Laddu Babu and will Laddu Babu succeeds in gaining Maaya's love, to know more about it, one should enjoy Laddu Babu on silver screen.

Performance

Naresh put in lot of effort to do the role. He did well but there is nothing new in his character except for oebese structure. Poorna lacked the glamour in her role. Bhoomika did well as mother of Atulit. Atulit did well. Kota Srinivasa Rao is good as a miser father. Others got limited scope for performances.

Technical

Production values are ok. Allari Naresh's costume should be mentioned specially.Music of Chakri is good in bits and pieces. Background music is ok. Cinematography is ok. Editing left a lot to be desired. Dialogues are routine.

Analysis

Ravi Babu tried different plot to strike gold recreating the magic of Allari. However his story fell flat as the first half of the film is quite slow and second half sails through at snails pace towards a dragged climax. Comedy too looked routine and extreme sentiments too didnot help the film. Ravi Babu failed to evoke interest in the story with weak direction.
