The film Bahubali has been in news for quite some time for various reasons that vary from the budget involved in filming of this project to that of casting and technology involved in the movie. Most recently, news is making rounds in the film circles that this high budgeted movie in which Rana and Prabhas have been casting as the siblings resembles a movie of NTR in Telugu and MGR in Tamil.

According to sources, this movie is the remake of Marmayogi, in which NTR and Kantha Rao played the lead roles in Telugu. The movie was released in the year 1964. In this film - Marmayogi, the siblings who take birth in a royal family desire for the same princess (Krishna Kumari acted in this role in Telugu) and compete with each other.
In a similar vein, Prabhas and Rana, the siblings in the movie, would also struggle for Anushka, the princess, according to sources. It is learnt that Vijayendra Parsad, father of Raja Mouli, has reportedly chosen the story of Marmayogi as the basis to remodel the story that suits the contemporary technology and tastes of the present-day audience.
