Telugu remake of 2 States on Telangana-Seemandhra? After winning hearts in Bollywood, Chetan Bhagat\'s novel \"2 States\" is all set to be made in South Indian languages.

After winning hearts in Bollywood, Chetan Bhagat's novel "2 States" is all set to be made in South Indian languages.

The success of the Alia Bhatt-Arjun Kapoor starrer has now attracted Tamil and Telugu remakes of the film. According to a Bollywood Life report, the rights of the north-south love story have been acquired by Prasad V Potluri of PVP Cinema. The producer will reportedly make a bilingual film in Tamil and Telugu, which means the film will simultaneously be shot in two languages.

While no actors have been approached for the south remake yet, the producer wants to recreate Bhatt-Kapoor's sizzling chemistry for the film. It should be noted that the duo's comfortable chemistry became the talking point and the film got an upper hand as the buzz around Kapoor and Bhatt's onscreen lip locks refused to die.

The film no doubt proved to be a hit entertainer, as it went on to cross the 100 crore mark by its fourth week and did an impressive business even in the overseas markets.

With this "2 States" joins the list of Hindi films, which have been remade in Southern languages. Other films that have made a mark with its remakes are "Band Baaja Baaraat", "Bol Bachchan", "Kahaani", "3 Idiots", "Dabanng", "Delhi Belly", "Jab We Met", "Dirty Picture", "Munna Bhai MBBS" and "A Wednesday!"

Presently, the musical blockbuster "Aashiqui 2" is also being remade in South and will have Sachiin Joshi and Sanjay Dutt's niece Nazia Hussain playing the leads.
