He moved away from his trademark films and directed a masala movie Rowdy Rathore, which helped him to bounce back from the financial crisis. Directed by Prabhu Deva, Rowdy Rathore was well received by audience making a mark in the career of Akshay Kumar. Despite an increase in number of theaters and ticket fares, the ‘Khiladi’ actor’s films have not performed well at the box office.
Bearing this in mind, Bhansali decided to produce another action packed film, which is likely to be the sequel of Rowdy Rathore. Bhansali is all set to start “Bajirao Mastani” in October and Rowdy Rathore 2 by the mid of next year. Rowdy Rathore is the remake of Tollywood flick Vikramarkudu directed by much celebrated director S.S.Rajamouli. Prabhudeva is all set to direct the sequel again.
