Chris Hemsworth won’t be replaced

Chris Hemsworth who plays Marvel superhero Thor has become Hollywood’s fifth highest paid actor thanks to the comic series. And it looks like he won’t be putting down the hammer any time soon.

Two of the studio’s most successful screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have said that the Australian hunk will be sticking around in the role that first made him famous – despite Thor now being played by a woman in the comic universe.

“He’s safe. Chris won’t be going anywhere for quite a while,” Markus told the Daily Mail Australia.

McFeely added,“Maybe eventually we’ll see a female Thor in the movies – it’s not impossible – and we’d love to see it. But Chris Hemsworth is Thor in the cinema universe.”

Marvel made waves when they announced last week that Thor, the God Of Thunder would now be a woman in the current comic book run leading to speculation that Hemsworth could transition out of the role to make way for a female Thor.
