While his peers – Mahesh Babu and NTR – participated in the Intensive Household Survey that the Telangana government conducted all across the new State on Tuesday, one name that couldn’t get into the government statistics was that of Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan. While some reports claimed that the actor’s Jubilee Hills residence was locked when enumerators dropped by his place, other reports indicated that he was holidaying in Bangalore.

A little digging confirmed that the actor, known for his long European holidays, left the city a week prior to the survey. “It’s been more than a week since he’s been is out of station. We have no clue why he didn’t participate in the survey. Moreover, the Hyderabad High Court has said that it’s not mandatory to participate in the survey, right?” questioned the publicist who looks after media relations of Pawan’s political outfit.


Mahesh Babu is away too – in Europe shooting for ‘Aagadu’ – and couldn’t participate in the survey but left the necessary details with his assistants. When quizzed as to why Pawan didn’t do the same, his publicist replied, “Mr Kalyan is the best answer to answer the query.” It is worth mentioning that the actor has his share of political differences with the Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Wonder whether that has anything to do with his absence?
