NTR no longer Nag’s friend?

Vamsi Paidipally has become the first casualty of the debacle ‘Rabhasa’. The director, who goes a long way with NTR was supposed to helm the actor’s next, but in a sudden turn of events, the actor has exit the project, paving way for the director, who spent nearly eight to ten months on the script, to look for other options

Just when we were saying that it’s the need of the hour for NTR to join forces with Nagarjuna for Vamsi Paidipally’s next, to re-invent and revive his career, here comes the shocker. Apparently, the actor, dejected with the response to ‘Rabhasa’, has decided to pull the plug and opt out of the project. To rewind a bit, it was indeed he who took the film’s first draft to Nagarjuna, who after liking Vamsi’s narration, gave his consent in principal to star in the film.

And now when the veteran’s participation is almost confirmed, this bit of news is sure to dampen the spirits of both Akkineni and Nandamuri fans. Nagarjuna seemed to be very excited to play NTR’s friend in the film. In fact, he had recently said that he was surprised to see NTR and Vamsi approach him with such a novel script.

When we contacted NTR’s office for a confirmation on the story, they remained unavailable for comment. However, on probing further it seems that the actor, at present, is keen to score a couple of hits before pondering over a multi-starrer.

In the meanwhile, we hear, Paidipally, who has been patiently waiting for the past 18 months to begin his next, is toying with the idea of considering Tamil actor Karthi as NTR’s replacement. The actor, for long, has been waiting to make his Telugu debut. If Karthi gives the nod, it is doubtful whether Nag will be on board for the film.
