Veteran director, writer, producer Sreekumaran Thampi came down heavily on the two superstars ruling the Malayalam film industry- Mohanlal and Mammootty. The director said that though he provided the duo with a platform to scale the heights, they never respected him. Whenever he approached them for dates, the duo used to evade him.
Sreekumaran Thampi called them ungrateful and that their indifference is the main reason why he quit making films. He revealed that Mammootty went to the extent of insulting him by saying that he is ready to act in a movie produced by him, and that he should stick to writing and producing. He added that Mammootty was even arrogant to his mentor KC George. Sreekumaran Thampi also said that the high remuneration demanded by the stars is ruining the Malayalam film industry.
