Looks like the controversies surrounding Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Sridevi’ are far from over. After the filmmaker issued a clarification to Child Rights Protection Commission the other day, stating that the film doesn’t depict any relation between a teacher and a student, actress Sridevi has now taken a strong objection to the film’s title. In a notice to Varma, Sridevi claimed that the former is using her name to gain publicity for the film. The diva even said that Varma failed to give a proper explanation when her husband Boney Kapoor approached him on the issue. She said that she has already suffered considerable embarrassment due to the queries being raised on her association with the film.

She further accused the director, who she collaborated for movies like ‘Kshana Kshanam’ and ‘Govinda Govinda’, is resorting to violation of her personality rights, besides demanding an apology. She has asked Varma to alter the film’s title straight away. In case the filmmaker fails to respond to her notice in three days time, the actress is keen to challenge him in court, initiating appropriate legal action and claiming damages.
