Ekta denies taking Sanju to court, says he’s like family

Producer Ekta Kapoor has dismissed reports that she is taking jailed actor Sanjay Dutt to court over a sum of Rs 1.5 crores that she is allegedly owed by him. Recent reports stated that Balaji chief had filed a complaint against Sanjay claiming that the signing amount she had paid the actor in 2008 had not been returned.

In a statement to the press, Ekta said, "The story that was reported is frivolous. I value relationships more than money. The Dutt family is like an extended family to me. I would never think of bothering bhabhi (Maanyata) with such a trivial matter, knowing that Sanju sir is not around. I am looking forward to working with the Dutts soon.”

Maanyata also issued a statement that said, "It is unfortunate that people, be it friends or foes, while being misinformed themselves become sources of such stories, and it is not even considered fit that things be confirmed with the concerned person and his family. We have the highest regards for Jeetu uncle, Shobha aunty and Ekta."
