Lakshmi gets busy as an actor

Lakshmi Manchu, who has shifted focus to acting of late, is playing the lead in ‘Pilavani Perantam’. Also starring Krishnudu, Dhanraj, Siya Gautham and Kesha in key roles, the film was officially launched on Tuesday in Hyderabad. To go on sets from December 1, the film, a production of N Subbarao, will be helmed by Venkanna Babu. Lakshmi said she’s got a performance-oriented role to essay. “The director approached me with a good script and I straightaway green-lit it,” she said. Director said Lakshmi agreed to be a part of the project after listening to the first 15 minutes of the narration. “A noted hero will be playing villain in this film, which will be on the lines of recent hits like ‘Geetanjali’, ‘Prema Katha Chatram’ and ‘Boochamma Boochodu’,” he said.
