Actor Raghu Babu felicitated

Actor Raghu Babu was felicitated with the Relangi Venkatramayya Award during the closing ceremony of the three-day drama competition organised by Maheswari Prasad Comedy Club. The award was presented by endowments minister Manikyala Rao.

Speaking on the occasion, Raghu Babu said that the stage was the first step to enter into movies.

The plays ‘Maask’ and ‘Kalisundam Raa’ were adjudged the top two productions among the five plays staged in the drama competition. Gangotri, Pedakakani presented the play ‘Mask’ and bagged four prizes for the best director (Naidu Gopi), best actor (VK Prasad), best actress (Lakshmi) and best music (Sambasivarao).

The play ‘Kalisundam Raa’ won the best script (Nandagiri Narasimharao), and actors Sagar and Amruta were runner-ups in the best actor and actress categories respectively.

Swamy was awarded the best character actor for his role in ‘Maa Thujje Salam’; Pavan won in the best villain for his role in ‘Gurivinda Ginja’, Poorna Satyam won the best comedian in ‘Sara Panjaram’, Jacob for best stage craft for ‘Sara Panjaram’, Surabhi Ganesh was the best make-up artist for ‘Gurivinda Ginja’ and Neeraja was awarded as the best child artist in for her role in ‘Sara Panjaram’.

Organiser Rampilla Mohana Krishna also felicitated other dignitaries like MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, corporator Kaku Mallikarjun, writer Pusala Venkateswara Rao and others.
