Barun Sobti who is the heart throb of girls all over India and Internationally too with his hit serial Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon is all set to debut with his filmy outing Mein Aur Mr Right.
However, already a married man Barun did not have a tough time to prove his qualities to his wife on par being Mr Right! Laughs...You need to ask my wife.
Barun is not a big star in Bollywood, but he has not missed the stardom that he may have received on the idiot box
Ask him is it not too early for him to get married? Pat comes the reply…Oh! No! I have been in love with my wife for a long time…. actually I got late in marriage. My wife is not insecure at all. I have a beautiful family-my dad who is a businessman and has extended all I needed.
While mom and Didi have also allowed me to do whatever I wanted to do in my life. Luckier I am that my wife also gives all her support to me. She is not insecure at all. In fact she gives me both good and bad feedback about my work.
Also after marriage she surprised me by cooking delicious dishes. I being a Punjabi and a foodie did not know this before getting married.
She is into making delicious Western dishes. I have no issues, I eat anything and everything. Yes! She proves the idiom, The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.
All Praises for his wife Since the time I realized she is a brilliant cook, I have been pushing her to participate in Master Chef. I am sure she will excel in the competition. But she does not intend to do it.
Turning nostalgic when asked if money does not keep him going .I have also worked in a call centre in Delhi. And when I came to Mumbai I came with just Rs 50000/- the gratuity money that I had with me. I remember having turned a sales man at the age of 16 while I was in the Class 10.
I had gone from door to door selling dinner sets. All the money that I got owing to my services for that job was just Rs 35/-. Since that was my first salary and I always wanted to gift my mom/dad/didi and my grandparents something.
I did not know how I could gift the things that they like. Finally I decided to buy soup sachets. I had to break my head on taking this decision which I finally took. I thought to myself that all of us could relish the soup sitting together on one dining table. What more could my family ask for. They all loved this emotional idea of mine.
Having begun acting stint from television
I will do films as well as television. I want to do content driven shows. Television has its own wide reach. After just doing one scene for television. It is difficult to be able to do a daily soap; I am more inclined to do weekly shows.
Money not important
I do not run after money, but who would not want to be secure. My father is a businessman; he has seen his ups and downs in life. We do not have a lot of money but yes my father has worked very hard. But yet all my family members want me do to whatever I like to do.
This does not mean Mein apne father ke paise par aish karunga. I will always be there for my family-if they need I will readily and easily cut off my left arm for them if need arises.
All praises for both the medium TV/films
Television is equally prestigious. If I take any assignment I am very committed to it. I do not credit myself for the stardom I received with my character in Iss Pyaar …..it is the efforts of the writer director and everyone involved in the show.
I am not an insecure actor; I will do whatever I get naturally. Not beginning his bollywood stint with the industry honchos YRF and other big banner.
I will like to act in their films but I need to be called for doing a character in their film.I take up things naturally I do not plan keeping something intentionally behind the back of my mind.
