Love has always remained an integral part of Bollywood ever since Alam Ara. The 100 years of Indian cinema has witnessed innumerable love stories and the change in their presentation over the period.

Today during one on one with Mr. Indervesh Yogee, we tried to find out what fundas of Love he is talking about in his directorial debut – Love Ke Funday.

Q – How you see Love and Romance in the earlier films and its change over ?

Indervesh - When we talk about Love and Romance, it was Dilip Kumar’s time when love was featured using 2 flowers coming together. Later Hero and Heroine accidentally banging on to each other, books falling down, then eye contacts, background song and their love story starts. Then came Shah Rukh Khan, playing guitar and the heroine in high speed and love is in the air. And then we are all aware of Imran Hasmi’s manner of making romance on screens”.

Director continues, “WHAT-NEXT? what can be the latest manner of love and romance. This is my story as a writer and director with a realistic cinema to portray a current style of love and romance”.

Q - How ‘Love Ke Funday’, is different when compared to other Romantic love stories ?

Yogee says, “My movie will be different from old love stories as we are trying to bring actual love story of today’s time. Till first 40 minutes of the film audience will not be able to judge which character is pairing with whom?. Suspense will be mounting from the starting till almost the interval. It will be a complete new, latest, real and practical kind of love story”.

Director added, “My film is a story of today’s Youth and hence maximum audience will be able to relate their love stories in the film. Title of My Film ‘Love Ke Funday’, itself asks, ‘What are the Fundamentals of Love?’. A boy and a girl may fall for each other feeling the eternal love and in a very short span of time which is so called Real Love just vanishes and both the partners try to find this love in some other person".

Q – What kind of star cast you are looking at?

Yogee - “It is always a script that demands casting, here is the same for ‘Love Ke Funday’, we were looking at new faces or those who do not have any Big- screen image. This includes good artists from small screen. Hence The star cast of my film includes Shaleen Bhanot, Puja Banerjee, Shamiksha Bhatnagar, Rishank Tiwari, Ratika, Nisha Gulati, Priyanka and a very important character role for Big Boss and Roadies Fame Ashutosh Kaushik.

Q - Why Ashutosh Kaushik character Important?

Yogee said, “Entire cast will be featured with Hanky-Shanky, stud kind characters, as it is a youth based comedy love story. But Ashutosh will be like a Cherry on the top, Unlike others he will be seen as a harayanvi character, which will be seen making funny scenes. I am very happy that all the cast has justified their characters which the story demanded”.

Yogee continued saying, “I strongly believe that Ashustosh will be a surprise package for the audience and the Bollywood Industry too. He was seen as he is, in Big Boss and Roadies, but this time, he will be seen playing a different character and on the other hand Shaleen has done a fabulous job and he shall surprise the audience too!”.

About the music of the Film, director seems very comfortable with the famous writer and lyricist Faiz Anwar, who also happens to be the producer of this film. He has been a part of movies like Rowdy Rathore, Jab We met and many more.

Director says, “With Faiz Anwar Saab, our film’s music is very strong. We are having 5 songs in the film, and songs are so good that no one can even select a single song to be removed from the list”.

About the marketing strategy, Director told media, “With due knowledge that marketing and promotions plays a very important role for a film to be a hit at box office, we decided to first complete the film and later to go for marketing and promotions with a complete Bang. We are now ready with the film and our promotions also start now”.

Love Ke Funday is directed by Indervesh Yogee, to be produced by Faiz Anvar under the banner of FRV Productions.

The film is slated to release in Mid-2015.
