The 78 year old actor- producer - director- has been the uncrowned monarch of the Telugu film world for four decades till Death took him away today . AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu condoled the suden demise as an ; irreparable loss to the Telugu film industry ".

Rama Naidu as a multilingual Indian film producer. He was the founder of Suresh Productions and holds the Guinness Book of World Records for the most films produced by a single individual with record of 150 films in 13 Indian languages. He has also served as a member of parliament for the Bapatala constituency of Guntur District in the 13th Lok Sabha from 1999–2004.

Rama Naidu set up a studio in Jubilee hills and also another at Visakpatnam to provide a footing for the film industry to conduct shooting at artistic locales, indoors and also in the hilly terrains.

In 2012, Ramanaidu was conferred Padma Bhushan, in recognition for his contribution to Telugu cinema In 2009 he received the Dada Saheb Phalke Award for Lifetime Achievement in the film industry .Ramanaidu had contributed a substantial part of his earnings to numerous philanthropic purposes including the Ramanaidu Charitable Trust that was founded in 1991.

D. Ramanaidu started Suresh Productions, named after his son, with his childhood friends G. Rajendra Prasad (Madhavi Combines) and Subba Rao. He produced Raamudu Bheemudu in 1964 . n 1971 – As the filming for Premnagar started, a nervous Ramanaidu announced that if this film flopped, he would return to Karamchedu and quite the business. So quite literally, his life depended on the success of this one film. Fortunately, as the film was a huge success, under the Suresh Productions banner, he produced up to 74 films from 1993 to 2005 in several languages.

His Preminchu movie won 5 Nandi Awards during the year 2001 - 2002.D. Rama Naidu Vignana Jyothi Institute of Rural Development s a registered society that was initiated in 1991 by group of like-minded Industrialists, Academics, Professionals and Non Residential Indians.With the generous contribution of 33 acres of land by Rama Naidu at Tuniki Village, Kowdipally Mandal, Medak District, the Society has decided to set up a rural development institute and name the Institute as "Dr D. Rama Naidu Vignana Jyothi Institute of Rural Development".
