In a tragic accident, young film producer Nagi Reddy (Pelli Pustakam fame) was killed when the car in which he was travelling hit a road divider near APPA junction on the city outskirts on Saturday night. Nagi Reddy was on his way to Hyderabad from Anantapur when the accident took place. The producer sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a private hospital in Gachibowli, where he succumbed. Director Madan, who was sitting next to Nagi Reddy survived the accident and suffered minor injuries.

Tollywood suffered major losses with the demise of many veteran as well as young film celebrities in 2014. After Nandamuri Janakiram's death in a road accident, it was the turn of music director Chakri, who passed away after suffering a massive heart attack. Actor Sai Kumar's father PJ Sharma, who was also a Telugu actor and dubbing artiste, passed away on December 13. Telangana Shakuntala died of a heart attack at her residence on June 13.

Veteran actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR) passed away in January 2014 after a prolonged illness. Actor Uday Kiran committed suicide by hanging himself on January 5. Veteran Telugu film director Bapu passed away following a cardiac arrest in August. He was 80. Then came the tragic end of comedian M S Narayana and the Movie Mogul D.Ramanaidu this year.

Actor Chandramohan was hospitalisaed same day with heart stroke and three other senior artistes and Directors are in hospital with one ailment or another. Surely a jinx is affecting the Tollywood which has seen several setbacks since the days of bifurcation and shifting of the Telugu film industry slowly from Hyderabad.
