The Telugu film industry known as Tollywood is in a shock and doldrums and plans to seek divine intervention to end the period of doom.

After a series of deaths that shook the industry, bigwigs have decided to invoke the Almighty to break the chasm and chain of tragedies. While many died of natural causes others have met tragic ends giving sleepless nights to the those celebrities who are alive and scared of the evil spirits.

Announcing the intentions of the Tollywood, actor M. Murali Mohan, president of MAA (Movie Artists Association) and TDP MP from Rajahmundry said that the association has decided to perform Amrutha Pasupatha Maha Mirtyunjaya Homam at the Film Nagar Daivasannidhanam Temple in Banjara hills for three days starting from 23 of this month to appease gods. Spiritual Guru Jagadguru Swarupanandendra will conduct the holy ritual.

The series of unfortunate events began in 2013 and has been chasing the Telugu film industry which has taken the division of the state in its stride by the end of 2014. Many felt that there is some bad omen or an evil spirit is at work and wreaking havoc with the lives of the industry.

“We are concerned about the welfare of the families of our community, who are not in a position to take any more pain. We hope that all actors, directors, technicians and other film related employees attend the three day Homam and be blessed,” Muralimohan said. He added that few Pundits in Rajahmundry have advised him to do something like a “Shanthi Homam,” for the welfare of the Tollywood industry.
