Vidya Balan to play Suchitra Sen in biopic

There has been a talk about Suchitra Sen’s biopic for long. Her granddaughters Raima and Riya Sen have toyed with the idea of the biopic for a while but to no avail. And now, the latest buzz is that Vidya Balan has bagged the opportunity of portraying the life of the renowned Bengali Mahanayika on screen.

It is said that Vidya is prepping for the role and has begun training in Kathak (Suchitra Sen was one of the most popular dancers of her time) from Pt Jayu Raman.While little is known about the biopic so far what we are more worried about is the casting of Uttam Kumar, Sen’s onscreen hero. The two of them remain Bengali cinema’s best-loved romantic pair.
