Kamal Haasan's much awaited Uthama Villain failed to release in theatres as per schedule. The morning shows were cancelled in several parts of South India due to undisclosed reasons. The Kamal -starrer controversial film was cancelled across Tamil Nadu.

According to sources, the shows were cancelled due to some financial problems between the makers of the film and financiers. Sources say that the issue is expected to be settled before the 3 pm show. The shows have also been cancelled in Karnataka, Andhra and Telangana as well.
