Ravi Teja’s journ­ey is inspirational: NTR

The audio launch of Ravi Teja-starrer ‘Kick 2’ was a star-studded affair. Even though the lead actors were present on the occasion, it was producer Kalyan Ram and brother NTR who took the spotlight with their presence.

NTR, who praised both Ravi and Kalyan Ram, went philosophical and exhorted on the importance of being grounded and down-to-earth, which were traits that defined an individual’s persona. “My grandfather’s song ‘Krushi unte manushulu rushulu avtaru’ is what I remember at this juncture.

Despite the high places one may reach, it is always important to be realistic, which is a quality that my brother Kalyan is richly endowed with. He has always been an inspiration,” he pointed out. He also recalled a few experiences with Ravi Teja.

“I have known Ravi anna since I was a kid. Some people’s success makes us very happy and that is the case with two people – him and Kalyan anna. Before I came to the industry, I remember I was jogging in KBR Park (in Hyderabad). By the time I could finish one round, he would have done it twice over,” he recalled.

NTR said his sibling’s journey was an inspiration in itself. “When I saw the poster of ‘Idiot’, I was genuinely happy and told him the same. Having forayed into the industry as an associate director before moving on to do character roles and finally being hailed as an acclaimed actor stand testimony to his versatility. He makes for a perfect role-model.”
