The actress, who hasn’t got her due in Tollywood, is playing a significant role in acclaimed actor Kamal Haasan’s ‘Cheekati Rajyam’

When the first look of Kamal Haasan-starrer ‘Cheekati Rajyam’ was released a fortnight ago, everyone thought that the actress who the superstar was intimidating with a revolver was Trisha – the film’s leading lady. But guess what! The girl in the picture isn’t the Chennai-beauty.

Hans Talkies has reliably learnt that the actress is our very own Madhu Shalini. “Though her screen presence is limited, she is playing a role which propels the narrative forward. As a matter of fact, the actress, who is currently shooting for the flick with Kamal in Hyderabad, will be seen essaying the role in both Telugu and Tamil,” reveals a source close to the actress.

Despite being around for a long time in Tollywood, the actress hasn’t got her due but according to the source that’s going to change with ‘Cheekati Rajyam’. “It’s a big push for the actress. If the film hit’s the bull’s-eye, her fortunes are bound to change.” ‘Cheekati Rajyam’, a directorial venture of Kamal’s long-time associate Rajesh M Selva, is likely to be wrapped up by August following which Kamal will shift attention to his Hindi flick ‘Amar Hain’.
