Producer-cum-distributor is upset over his rivals fielding another producer against him

Hyderabad: Leading producer-distributor-exhibitor Dil Raju is reportedly upset over a few members of Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce for backtracking on their promise to elect him as the president of Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce unanimously. His rivals have pitted producer-exhibitor Ram Mohan Rao at the last moment against him and thus turning it a two-cornered contest.

Around 10 days ago majority of members went to Dil Raju and requested him to lead Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce in the new State. “Even though he was reluctant, we managed to convince him and assured him that it would be an unanimous choice,” admitted writer-director Prem Raj, a supporter of Dil Raju camp.

As the date for filing nominations is to close in a day or two, entry Ram Mohan Rao into the arena has annoyed Dil Raju and he is mulling staying away from the contest. “Dil Raju’s supporters, numbering between 20 and 30, will go into closed-door session tomorrow at 3.30 pm to chalk out their next course of action," added another source.

Even the plan to merge Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce and newly-formed Telugu Movie Chamber of Commerce has been put on back-burner as differences have arisen between members of the both the chambers.

“Merger is not as easy as it looks since lots of issues are to be resolved and we want the merger with some conditions, so that it will take some time to resolve them,” said Vijayendar Reddy, outgoing president of Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce.
