What went wrong with Puri-Nithiin film

In a sudden turn of events, actor Nithiin, who was supposed to play the lead in director Puri Jagannadh’s next which was to flag off from June 15, has exited the project. “My film with puri garu is not happenin due to unavoidable circumstances.

hope to work with him in the future (sic),” tweeted Nithiin on Wednesday night. While he failed to disclose what those unavoidable circumstances are, a source close to the development points out, “Actress Charmme, who turned producer with Puri’s ‘Jyothi Lakshmi’, wanted to involve in the production process of this film too.

However, it didn’t go well with Sudhakar Reddy (film’s producer), who confronted Puri on the same. Upon not getting a positive assurance, he was left with no option but to exit the project along with son Nithiin.”

Though Sudhakar Reddy remained unavailable for a comment despite repeated attempts, the source adds that Puri has immediately ringed producer C Kalyan, who had no second thoughts of bankrolling the project. Varun Tej will now step into the shoes of Nithiin.

“C Kalyan was waiting to make a film with Puri and Varun for long and this decision of Nithiin and his father has come in as a blessing in disguise for him,” adds the source. An official statement too, saying that the film will move on to floors this month was issued by the producer on Thursday.

Though the statement failed to mention about Charmme’s involvement in the project, it is most likely that she will oversee the production. The source further added that model Disha Patani has been roped in to play the leading lady of the film, touted to be a typical Puri entertainer laced with heart touching sequences.
