The movie is about Dan Gallagher played by Michael Douglas who is a Manhattan attorney who grew unfaithful to his wife and started aromance with an editor from a publishing company Alexandra “Alex” Forrest played by Glenn Close who turned out to be a psychotic mistress, hence the title.

TV Over Mind reported that the exact details about the TV adaptation of the film are still being kept under wraps. However, it is reported that it will “explore how a married man’s indiscretion comes back to haunt him.” It was also reported that both Paramount Television Production headed the show’s development.

FOX, which is its home network, has officially ordered the script for the pilot episode. Executive producers are Maria and Andre Jacquemetton, Stanley R Jaffe and Rosalie Swedlin. If this potential series come into play, it will follow the successful adaptation of FX’s “Fargo.”
