Courtesy the adaptation of George RR Martin's story, HBO rules the nominations with 126 nods, becoming the top contender for two years in a row following last year's domination with 99, reports aceshowbiz.com.

Game Of Thrones is facing online streaming service Netflix's House of Cards and Orange Is the New Black for Outstanding Drama Series. Other contenders in the category are Better Call Saul, Mad Men, Downton Abbey and Homeland.

Meanwhile, HBO's Silicon Valley and Veep are vying for Outstanding Comedy Series along with Louie, Modern Family, Parks and Recreation, Transparent and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Andy Samberg will host the event live on Fox channel on September 20.
