Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu, who had earlier announced to adopt Burripalem village, his father’s birth place in Andhra Pradesh, has said he will also adopt a village in the Mahabubnagar district of Telangana.

In response to a suggestion made by Telangana IT minister KT Rama Rao, appreciating Mahesh Babu’s recently released film, the actor made this announcement on twitter on Wednesday. “Very Humbled after receiving a congratulatory call on the success of Srimanthudu from Minister PR&RD @KTRTRS.

He suggested I adopt a village from the most backward district of Mahabubnagar as part of their #GramaJyothi initiative. I said YES, more details to be announced soon..,” Mahesh Babu tweeted. In the recently released action-drama “Srimanthudu”, the actor played the role of Harsha, who adopts a village to look after the welfare of people living in rural areas. Also starring Shruti Haasan, the film follows the life of a young billionaire who adopts a village.
