“It’s great! I play an independent village belle in the film, which is set in a rustic backdrop. My role carries a lot of attitude,” shares the 22-year-old. Interestingly, it was in Class VIII that Wamiqa had her first stint in front of the camera for Kareena Kapoor and Shahid kapoor-starrer ‘Jab We Met’.

“I was selected in a dance competition adjudged by Aamir Khan and that’s how my move to Mumbai and the world of showbiz happened. I was initially apprehensive about the industry because I had heard stories of how people took advantage of through casting couch.

I even considered changing my profession to choreography. After a brief period, I took a break and went back home. Later, I auditioned for my Bollywood debut ‘Sixteen’ and there has been no looking back since then,” recalls Wamiqa, who is trained in Kathak.

Admittedly, the actress says that life in showbiz only made her serious about her career. “Initially I had no clue about how I would sail through. Later, I became more focussed as I started taking up projects with more confidence,” shares Wamiqa, who is a big foodie.
