Some of his well-liked films include ‘Challenge’, ‘Khaidi No. 786’, ‘Abhilasha’, ‘Police Lockup’, ‘Bangaru Bullodu’ and ‘Bhale Donga’. Popular composer Devi Sri Prasad and singer Sagar are his sons. His last rites will be performed in Chennai today.

Mourning over Murthy’s death, actor Balakrishna said, “During the filming of ‘Bangaru Bullodu’ and ‘Bhale Donga’ I forget a bond with him. He is a good human being. His death is a loss to the industry.”
