Now Trisha takes to singing

After Kajal Aggarwal, Trisha Krishnan has become the latest entrant in the actor-singer club as she is set to make her singing debut for the Telugu-Tamil bilingual, ‘Nayaki’, in which she plays the titular role.

The petite actress will be lending her voice for a promotional song (both versions) in the horror comedy directed by Govardhan Reddy. Interestingly, it was composer Raghu Kunche’s idea that triggered the Chennai girl to debut as a singer.

Says Govardhan, “When Raghu came up with the thought, I felt it was interesting. We approached Trisha with the idea and she was more than pleased to do the honours. She’s blessed with a beautiful voice. And as she sings in her own voice, the song will seem more real.

The novelty factor Trisha singing for the first time will create a buzz too. Moreover, there’s nothing more authentic than the actors singing the songs themselves, right?”

So what type of a song is it? “The number has a mix of everything - hip hop, mass beats, etc., and will be added to the film’s playlist. We would like to feature it in the movie as well. It would be recorded in Hyderabad,” Govardhan adds. Now that’s something to watch out for!
