Jaya goes extra mile for Vaisakham

B Jaya, who has wrapped up 60 per cent of ‘Vaisakham’, says the romantic drama set in a joint family backdrop happens to be the first film from India to have been shot in Kazakhstan. “We shot three songs in Kazakhstan.

It was not needed but we wanted the audience to feel virgin locations and so, zeroed in on the northern Central Asian country. It took us a month to get due formalities done for the shoot,” said Jaya. She was speaking at a presser of the film in Hyderabad on Monday.

Jaya further added that she initially wanted the finish the film in a controlled budget but things didn’t go according to plan. “Everything went the opposite. I leave the film to BA Raju (her husband and producer) now,” she chuckled.

Raju said since he wanted to deliver a bigger hit than ‘Lovely’ this time around, he took his time for the right script. Starring Harish of ‘Prema Ishq Kadhal’ fame and Avantika of ‘Maaya’ fame, the film has musical renditions by DJ Vasanth.
