The makers of upcoming investigative thriller Missing On A Weekend on Wednesday announced that the film will release a week later than scheduled. It will now hit the screens on July 1. Initially, it was scheduled for 24th June 2016

"Making a film is just half the job was done, which is actually completed with a good release. With such crazy traffic (at the box office) on June 24, we thought that would not do justice to the film," Abhishek Jawkar, director & co-producer of the film, said.

"We, the makers and the distributors, have made a combined decision to push the release by a week for some breathing space and better showcasing. So now the film will be releasing on July 1," he said.

"There is a clutter of films releasing on June 24 and we didn't want to get overshadowed in the clutter. That's the bitter politics of our industry -- films with the bigger stars always get more screens. The exhibitors will never consider the content, which in our case, I believe, is far superior to the others'," he added.

Missing On A Weekend is an investigative thriller. The movie also marks the launch of veteran singer Hariharan's son Karan Hariharan in lead role among others. Pavan Malhotra and Dibyendu Bhattacharya will be seen together after Black Friday .The film is presented by the Red Bulb Studios and Adept Films.
