An interim injunction was passed by the Madras High Court on Friday on all Internet Service Providers (ISPs) from illegally downloading upcoming superstar Rajinikanth-starrer Tamil film "Kabali".

Reacting to a plea submitted by the film's producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu, Justice N. Kirubakaran granted interim injunction on illegal downloads of the movie from nearly 180 websites.

Thanu requested the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to instruct all ISPs to block sites that offer illegal downloads.

According to the counsel, "Kabali" has been made on a budget of Rs 100 crore and over 3000 technicians were involved in its making.

He argued that as the film is slated for worldwide release on July 22, interim injunction for at least two weeks from the release date on illegal downloads is a must.

Directed by Pa. Ranjith, "Kabali" features Rajinikanth as a don who fights for Malaysian Tamils.
