New Delhi:He was active in the 1990s when the Indipop genre was at its peak, and he still continues to regale his fans. Singer Lucky Ali says the popularity of live concerts and flourishing of a variety of genres are proof of the changes in the country's music scene.

"This is the best and most exciting time to be part of the Indian music industry. The rising culture of music festivals and concerts, coming together of various music genres, and boldly experimental music artists, are challenging what was erstwhile considered mainstream music in India," the "O Sanam" singer said in a statement.

"We have indeed come a long way from the Indipop songs and music videos of the 1990s. I'm glad that I was a part of that era, and I'm equally happy about being part of the present day music scene in India," he added.

Lucky has sung memorable songs like "Aa bhi jaa" and "Ek pal ka jeena" for Hindi films too. He feels "music should make one feel good".

"It doesn't matter whether it's classical or western or a mixture of the two, the sole purpose of music is to be limitless and appealing, irrespective of the genre," he stressed.

The singer last month performed at Red Live UNWIND, with Sona Mohapatra and Papon, in Delhi-NCR.
