Chennai: Naga Chaitanya-starrer Telugu romantic drama "Premam", the eponymous remake of Malayalam blockbuster, which was earlier scheduled to release on September 9, has been deferred by a month.

"The film will hit the screens during Dussehra festival in October. The original plan was to release in September; however, it has been postponed to make way for the release of Chaitanya's other film 'Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo'," a source from the film's unit told IANS.

Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, the film tracks three different stages of romance in the life of its protagonist.

Last week, the makers released the first song "Evare" from the album and it has been very well received. Now, they're planning to unveil 1-minute video of the song on a special occasion.

"They want to unveil it on the occasion of Chaitanya's father Nagarjuna's birthday on August 29. The film's audio launch will happen in the third week of September to coincide with the birth anniversary of late legendary actor Nageswara Rao," he said.

The film also stars Shruti Haasan, Madonna Sebastian and Anupama Parameswaran.
