Koti Lingala (Jagtial): Koti Lingala, the first capital of the Satavahana Dynasty, has its date with its erstwhile king Gautamiputra Satakarni.

Don’t get carried away, it’s the 100th film of Nandamuri Balakrishna who donned the role of Gautamiputra Satakarni, one of the great warriors the land has ever produced.

The ancient temple town on Friday was abuzz with Balayya fans coming from neighbouring districts, especially from Karimnagar and Warangal.

Since the film unit aptly planned a visit to Koti Lingala ahead of movie’s trailer and audio launch, the temple town has been in news again after last year’s Godavari Maha Pushkaralu.

It’s said that this is first time that launch of a trailer has been planned in north Telangana region. The police had a tough time controlling the crowd as the temple premises could only accommodate a limited number of people.

Speaking on the occasion, Balayya said: “It’s my privilege to be here, especially since the story of my 100th movie is based on the heroics of the Satavahana dynasty in the 1st century AD revered by one and all in the country.”

Later, the scene shifted to Tirumala Theatre in Karimnagar where Balayya had his fans in frenzy, twirling his moustache saying: “Yedi Yemaina Desam meesam tippudam” (What may come we will twirl country’s moustache).

Seeing the crowds going berserk, film director Krish said: “Now, I got to know why the producers chose Karimnagar to launch the trailer.”

This apart, the producers have also made arrangements to release this theatrical trailer simultaneously in 100 select theaters across Telugu-speaking States - AP and Telangana.

Meanwhile, majority of fans appeared disappointed in Koti Lingala and Karimnagar. A group of Balayya fans from Solapur in Maharashtra who reportedly came to meet the actor also failed to get an opportunity to have a photo snap with him.

Earlier, Balayya garlanded the statue of NTR near Ujwala Park in Karimnagar town.
