Kruthika to make Tamil debut opposite Arya
Days after the announcement of Tamil film ‘Santhana Devan’, starring Arya, was made, the spotlight was turned on to who shall be the film’s leading lady.

We have learnt that Kruthika Jayakumar (‘Druysham’ Telugu fame) has been handpicked by the director for the female lead. The actress will be seen in a de-glamorised role, a village belle, in the period drama.
Apparently, Ameer was on his way to Kochi to scout for the female lead, but he happened to see Kruthika’s pics. He cancelled the trip mid-way and asked her to come for a look test immediately. She bagged the project and will join the sets soon.
“Director Ameer liked Kruthika’s pictures and asked to come for an audition. He was happy with the trial shoot. The actress was all elated and couldn’t have asked for a better launch,” informs a source from the unit.
The film will have major portions detailing Tamil Nadu’s traditional sport Jallikattu. Recently, the first look of Arya from the film was revealed to an over-whelming response.
