Satyadev might have had a few scenes in ‘Ghazi’ but his role of that of sonar operator received applause from all quarters. In the war-at-sea film, he has also managed to rub shoulders with noted Bollywood actor Kay Kay Menon who he looks up to.

“The way he approaches a character is different. He doesn’t converse with anyone on the sets; he retires to caravan after giving his shot. I did try to emulate his act but quickly realised that there is every chance for me to be branded as arrogant,” he smiles. “May be after attaining more experience, I can be like him on sets.”

Continuing with the explanation, he goes on, “I believe you deviate from the character if you socialise much on sets. Yes, there are people who say it’s just acting, chill but there are others who believe in staying with the character throughout the day.”

But did he get a chance to interact with Kay Kay? “With due respect to him, he had a drawn a certain boundary line around him, so I didn’t muster the courage to cross it. He was all business and I had to respect that,” he replies, adding, “But in real life, I was told that he is very funny.”

Next up, Satyadev will be seen in ‘Guvva Gorinka’, a romantic drama, which marks his debut as a lead. How two individuals who are completely different to each other fall in love is what the film all about. Directed by Mohan Dammidi, a major part of the film has already been wrapped up.

Talking about the how the project materialised, he shares, “Along with producer Jeevan Reddy, Mohan has encouraged me a lot ever since I stepped into the industry. They wanted to make ‘Guvva Gorinka’ with someone else but later had a change of mind and considered me. I was in the moment I heard the script.”

He points out that he is extremely happy with the way the film is shaping up. “Although the result is not in our hands, I have a positive feeling about its BO prospects. I’ve outperformed myself in the film. I’ve never imagined myself in a romantic comedy. I’m loving myself seeing on the monitor,” he exults, further revealing that the film’s soundtrack will be a big plus once it releases. “I’m damn sure about the audio topping the charts.”

So, is he feeling the pressure of carrying a film on his shoulders? “No, I am taking more responsibility and the experience so far has been enjoyable. I’m able to discuss the scenes with the director and he would ask for my inputs. I didn’t have the same luxury earlier,” he chuckles.
Satyadev recently met his favourite actor Chiranjeevi in Hyderabad and says it was a dream come true meeting him.

His mentor Puri Jagannadh facilitated the meeting. “Puri garu introduced me to Chiru garu and said, ‘This is Satya, your die-hard fan’. When sir (Chiranjeevi) asked me how I am, I went speechless for a while. It was a dream come true moment for me. He later told me that I was natural in the trailer of ‘Jyothi Lakshmi’. I’ve sat next to him for a considerable time. He even enquired about my future endeavours and wished me all the luck.”
