Just in case, if you have not been a part of the Baahubali craze, let's take a quick recap into the movie which broke the barriers for Indian cinema.

Baahubali: The Beginning

Synopsis -

The movie revolves around a warrior boy, Shivudu who is adopted by a tribal chief and his wife after a regal lady (Sivagami) sacrifices her live to save the baby.

Set in the kingdom of Mahishmati, Shivudu's destiny awaits him as he makes a daring journey to leave the valley and travel into the mountains to find a woman (Avantika) he is smitten to.

However, the course of journey takes a different turn when Shivudu learns of her cause which lands him in Mahishmati Kingdom, and makes him confront his legacy.

As he saves the enslaved Queen, Shivudu soon finds about her being his real mother and learns about his father, Amarendra Baahubali from the loyal warrior slave, Kattappa.

But the shock comes in the form of Kattappa revealing he was the one behind Baahubali's death. The reason behind was left as a mystery leaving fans hanging.

Performances-

Prabhas as Baahubali and Shivudu fits right into both the roles effortlessly. Be it his rugged physique or brilliant acting, Prabhas delivers a splendid performance. Rana Daggubati as Bhalladeva excels in the action scenes.

Sathyaraj as Kattapa the loyal warrior is impressive in his character-driven role. Also, Nassar as Bijjala Deva and Sudeep as Aslam Khan give notable performances.

Coming to the actresses, Ramya Krishna as the Rajmata - Sivagami and Bijjala Deva's wife steals the limelight all the way in her remarkable act. Anushka Shetty as Devasena, Bahubali's mother brings on a tough act yet has little screen time in the movie while Tamannah who plays Shiva's love interest and a rebel warrior, Avanthika adds the mystic value.

Technical Aspects-

The artistically conceived visualization was what attracted the audiences the most. Every single frame is picturesque with elaborate sets, costumes, visuals and the CGI has been well perceived including the video execution. Even the background score elevated the whole cinematic experience.

Production-

The shooting of the film started at Rock Gardens in Kurnool on 6 July 2013 and went on till March 2015 amidst several schedules. Released on 10 July 2015, SS Rajamouli's Baahubali was shot at a budget of Rs 120 crore (US$19 million).

The movie went on to become the highest grossing Indian film within India and the third highest grossing Indian movie across the globe.

Raking in Rs 650 crore (6.5 billion) worldwide, Baahubali became the highest grossing Telugu movie till date and also grossed over Rs 100 crore (1 billion) in the dubbed Hindi version.
