On composing music for ‘Fashion Designer’, sequel to 80’s blockbuster ‘Ladies Tailor’. “Composer Ilayaraja is like my guru and has composed soulful tunes for `Ladies.... Truly, I am honoured that Vamsi chose me for its sequel,’ he adds. Considering that Vamsi (Sr) is also a music composer, were there any specific inputs from him regarding the music for the film?

“That was the best part of it. I was given complete freedom by the producer (Madhura Sridhar) and Vamsi. Even if he had given me any guidelines, I would have followed them as he is a legend,” says the veteran composer. Asked to comment on the film in general and the work of the other technicians, Mani says, “See, I was entrusted with the responsibility for the music of the film and I have given it my best. I hope I have lived up to the expectations and my role ends there.” he concludes.
