Kolkata: Director Bauddhayan Mukherjee's Hindi short feature "The Violin Player" took home two prizes at the ImagineIndia International Film Festival in Madrid, where film legend Adoor Gopalakrishnan was named as the recipient of the lifetime achievement award.

The film's lead star, Bengali actor Ritwick Chakraborty, bagged the best actor honour. "It is a very good news," Ritwick told PTI.

The film's cinematographer Avik Mukhopadhyay won the best cinematography award at the festival. Mukhopadhyay shared his honour with Alexander Surkala for "The Noonday Witch" (Czech). The Public Service Broadcasting Trust (PSBT) also got a special recognition.
