Los Angeles: Director Terry Gilliam has announced that his team has finally wrapped up the shooting of the film "The Man Who Killed Don Quixote", after a time span of 17 years.

The film, which is an adaptation from the classic novel "Don Quixote," has gone through many hurdles and even a documentary titled 2002's "Lost in La Mancha" has already been made on the unfinished project, reported Variety. The 76-year-old actor took to Facebook where he apologised to the audiences for a long wait for the film in which the titular role will be essayed by Jonathan Pryce. "Sorry for the long silence.

I've been busy packing the truck and am now heading home. After 17 years, we have completed the shoot of 'The Man Who Killed Don Quixote'. Muchas gracias to all the team and believers. Quixote vive!" wrote Gilliam. The film also stars Adam Driver and Stellan Skarsgard.
