After impressing the viewers as a lover boy in ‘Ra Randoi Veduka Chudam’, Gen X star Naga Chaitanya is all set to unleash his anger in his upcoming film ‘Yuddham Sharanam’ being directed by R V Mari. Already the first look released by the makers has received good response for the brooding look of scion of Akkineni family.
Another popular lover boy on screen Sundeep Kishan will be essaying the role of an ‘angry-young cop’ in his upcoming film ‘Nakshatram’ after doing love stories like ‘Venkatadri Express’ and ‘Beeruva’. Not to be left behind young actor Nikhil who showed traces of his fury in ‘Kesava’, has put on 12 kgs for his anger-driven role in his upcoming film, remake of Kannada blockbuster ‘Kiraak Party’ and going in for a complete makeover for the political thriller.
Earlier, hotshot Rana swayed audience off their feet with his maiden negative role in ‘Bahubali franchise’. “Truly, Rana raised the bar on anger-driven roles in `Bahubali’ away from his softer-looking roles in ‘Leader and ‘Naa Ishtam’. The trend of handsome actors to do action roles is here to stay since such roles take them closer to masses,’ says producer Chintalapudi Srinivas.
Actually, director Sudheer Varma who made Nikhil to shed his lover boy image and play a vigilante in ‘Kesava’ says “Nikhil did a fabulous job as an angry-young-man who sets out to avenge the death of his parents. I found a different Nikhil onscreen,”. Similarly, ace director Krishna Vamsi will showcase the hitherto unknown side of Sundeep in ‘Nakshatram’. “Sundeep will become a sought-after action star after this hard-hitting cop story,’ adds a source close to the unit.
